Bolognese Kefta Gyros

Ingredients

Patties

  • 3 green onions

  • 1 clove of garlic

  • 1/2 cup of fresh parsley

  • 1 package of Dalisa bolognese sausages

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander

  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin

  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric

  • Salt and pepper

Toppings

  • 1 lemon

  • 1 cup of Greek yogurt

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 red onion

  • 3 Lebanese cucumbers

  • 2 tomatoes

  • Lettuce

  • 4 gyros breads

Preparation

  1. Finely chop the green onions, garlic, and parsley, then place everything in a large bowl.
  2. Remove the casings from the sausages to break them apart and add them to the large bowl.
  3. In the same bowl, add the paprika, garlic powder, coriander, cumin, and turmeric.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, then mix everything together using your hands.
  5. Form 4 generous oval patties, about 2 cm thick.
  6. In a hot, oiled skillet, place the patties and cook for about 15 minutes, turning them halfway through.
  7. Meanwhile, in a bowl, add the Greek yogurt and zest the lemon.
  8. Add the lemon juice, then season with salt and pepper.
  9. For the toppings, slice the red onion, cut the cucumbers into long slices, dice the tomatoes, and chop the lettuce.
  10. Cover the gyros with the creamy preparation, add the toppings, then close everything with a toothpick. Cut in half if necessary.
