Brussels Sprout Penne with Mild Italian Sausage

Ingredients

  • 1 package of Dalisa Mild Italian Sausages

  • 2 lemons

  • 1 package of gluten-free penne pasta

  • 2.5 cups of cooking water

  • 1 cup of lactose-free grated parmesan

  • 2 tsp of garlic

  • 1 chopped onion

  • 450 g Brussels sprouts

  • 2 tsp crushed chili

Preparation

  1. Heat a pan and cook the chopped onions.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook until the onions become translucent.
  3. Add the sausage meat (removed from its casing) and cook it through.
  4. Add the crushed chili and cook everything until the sausage is nicely browned.
  5. Pour water into a pot and bring it to a boil. Then add the penne pasta and cook until al dente. Reserve the cooking water for later.
  6. Meanwhile, slice the Brussels sprouts thinly and add them to the pan.
  7. Add the cooked penne to the pan and mix well with the sausage mixture.
  8. Add the reserved cooking water, grated parmesan, lemon juice, and lemon zest, and mix again.
  9. Season with salt and pepper, and serve hot.
