Caramelized Onion Dip with Ham & Maple Dalisa sausage

Ingredients

  • 1 package of Dalisa Ham & Maple sausages
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 4 white diced onions
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 1 cup of cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup of mayonnaise
  • ½ cup of sour cream
  • ½ cup of grated parmesan
  • 20 g of fresh chives, chopped

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Place the sausages on a baking sheet and cook for 15 minutes. Once cooked, remove them from the oven and cut them into small pieces.
  2. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and salt, and cook for 5 minutes, until the onions are tender and slightly golden.
  3. Pour the maple syrup into the skillet and add the chopped sausages. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the sausages are well browned and caramelized.
  4. Meanwhile, place the cream cheese in the bowl of a stand mixer. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  5. Add the mayonnaise, sour cream, and grated parmesan. Whisk again until the mixture is smooth and light.
  6. Then, add the onion and sausage mixture (saving a small amount for the final garnish), along with half of the chopped chives. Mix well.
  7. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Garnish with the remaining caramelized onions and chives. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  8. Serve this delicious dip with your favorite chips or crackers for a guaranteed treat!
