Creamy penne with Bacon & Cheddar sausage

Ingredients

  • 1 package (350 g) of penne pasta
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 package Dalisa Bacon & Cheddar sausages
  • 1 tbsp italian seasoning
  • 1 ½ cups chicken broth
  • 1 ½ cups 15% cooking cream
  • ¾ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley

Preparation

  1. Dice the onion and mince the garlic.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onion is soft and translucent.
  3. Meanwhile, cook the penne according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  4. Add the sliced sausages to the skillet and cook until nicely browned.
  5. Stir in the italian seasoning and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add the cream and bring back to a boil to help thicken the sauce. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring regularly.
  7. Reduce the heat, add the cooked pasta, then stir in the Parmesan, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  8. Mix well, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve hot.
