Ingredients
2 tbsp of olive oil
1/2 onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp of tomato paste
1 can of whole tomatoes (796 ml)
Fresh basil and thyme to taste
Salt and pepper
Preparation
In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium heat.
Cook the onion for about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook 1 minute.
Add the tomato paste and mix well. Cook for 1 minute to infuse.
Add the canned tomatoes and break them up with a wooden spoon. Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 30 minutes, covered, stirring a few times.
Add the herbs and season with salt and pepper generously. Serve with meatballs over spaghetti.
