Sloppy Joes

Ingredients

  • 6 sub rolls

  • 1 package (450g) of Dalisa Chorizo sausages

  • 1 white onion

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 2 teaspoons mustard

  • 1 ¼ cups ketchup

  • 1 cup water

  • ¾ cup softened butter

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup fresh parsley

Preparation

  1. Finely chop a large onion into small dice. Cook it in a hot skillet with a little oil until it becomes translucent.
  2. Remove the casings from a package of Dalisa Chorizo sausages and crumble the meat. Add it to the skillet and cook until well browned.
  3. Stir in garlic powder, ketchup, mustard, and water. Bring to a boil and let it simmer until the sauce thickens.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Brush the insides of the sub rolls with butter and fill them with the chorizo mixture.
  6. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese, then bake for about 8 minutes. Finish cooking under the broiler to brown the cheese.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
